ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Director of Communications and Associate Experience, you’ll develop and execute communications strategies to connect associates to our company’s vision, drive engagement, and inspire our teams to deliver results.  In this role, you’ll provide strategic counsel and communications coaching for top-level Talbots executives and will be the lead message developer for all major internal communication initiatives to support the brand. Storytelling: Serving as the Editorial Director of our internal communications channels, you’ll develop the content strategy for our digital platforms, establish the narrative for each season, create multifaceted touchpoints, craft, and design communications, and utilize various communications vehicles to engage the team.

Associate Experience: You’ll collaborate with leaders on engagement action plans and oversee the planning and implementation of both in-office and virtual events aimed at delighting associates. From concept to execution, you’ll lead these events and be responsible for maintaining and tracking the annual budget.

Communications Counsel: You’ll build relationships with executives, key stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to provide communications guidance and partner on the development and delivery of communications strategies that foster authentic and transparent communication.

  • Proven experience (7+ years) leading internal communications initiatives, preferably within corporate retail environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, and influence outcomes at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to convey complex information in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and SharePoint (Viva Engage is a plus!)
  • A passion for communications and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
