The Impact You Can Have

  • Independently apply critical thinking and analytical judgment to develop actionable insights.
  • Produce predictive operational analyses using internal and external data sources to enhance decision-making.
  • Build and maintain reports while conducting analysis for the small parcel transportation network.
  • Collaborate with carriers, freight auditors, and internal technology teams to source and optimize data.
  • Lead the team through data analysis and the development of effective solutions.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Transportation-related KPIs and metrics to drive meaningful business changes.
  • Identify capabilities and processes that foster continuous improvement, preparing projections and conducting post-implementation variance analyses.
  • Manage ad hoc analysis requests from the business, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Develop process solutions that convert data insights into actionable improvements.
  • Interpret and present innovative insights using descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytical techniques.
  • Establish and maintain effective systems and tools to support departmental objectives.

What You'll Bring to The Role

  • Analytical Experience: 5+ years in analytical roles focused on Transportation and/or Supply Chain.
  • Influence Skills: Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Data Storytelling: Proven track record of using data to craft compelling narratives.
  • Executive Presentation: Experience presenting analytical findings to Executive Leadership.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial concepts.
  • Delegation: Capable of delegating tasks and ensuring follow-up for successful outcomes.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Writing SQL, including DDL and DML statements
    • Familiarity with Python
    • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
    • Understanding of Python environment managers (e.g., Poetry)
    • Proficiency with Git and GitHub
    • Linux experience, including Bash scripting and scheduling with cron.
    • Familiarity with creating and using containers
    • Basic knowledge of PowerBI/SSRS
    • Strong data visualization skills
    • Analytics skills with a grasp of descriptive statistics and understanding of retail seasonality
  • Self-Management: Able to create detailed projects, timelines, and goals for self and team
  • Flexibility: Willing to adjust timelines for urgent/unplanned tasks
  • Curiosity: Natural curiosity and eagerness to learn
  • Feedback Culture: Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback and create opportunities for team discussions
  • Questioning Skills: Ability to ask the right questions to clarify needs and requirements
