Can you tell us a little about yourself and your journey to Ann Taylor?
I studied Fashion Marketing at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and like a lot of people in my major, I graduated with big creative goals. I think most of us imagined ourselves becoming creative directors one day, but I also knew early on that getting there would take time and a lot of hands-on experience across the industry.
After graduating, I moved to New York and took the first job I could get, which was in sales within the women’s luxury space. I’ll never forget my first day—it honestly felt like everyone was speaking a completely different language. Everything was about numbers, metrics, and how to drive business, and at the time it felt very far from the creative path I thought I’d be on. But looking back, that experience was incredibly valuable.
Even while I was in sales, I knew I wanted to stay close to the creative side, and over time I transitioned into the marketing department. There were many mentors along the way that took me under their wing, letting me join editorial sets and shadow them as they worked. I moved into an art direction role, starting as a Junior Art Director, and eventually took on more of a lead role within the e-commerce space. As the industry shifted—especially post-pandemic—digital became essential to how brands show up and connect with customers, and I found my stride there.
That combination of creative thinking and commercial understanding is what ultimately led me to Ann Taylor. The brand’s focus on modern, confident women and thoughtful, elevated design really resonated with me, and it felt like a natural next step in my journey.
Describe a typical day in your role. What does your job involve?
There’s really no such thing as a typical day in my role, which is one of the reasons I love it so much. On shoot days especially, it doesn’t feel like a job—it feels like getting to create. I work on-site in the studio with an incredibly talented crew of freelancers, and together we bring the Ann Taylor brand to life through imagery.
I’m involved in everything from setting the creative tone to hair and makeup direction, lighting tweaks, and on-the-fly adjustments throughout the day. As the shoot progresses, I’m focused on the details—making sure the imagery feels elevated, modern, and true to the brand. We wrap the day with final selects and refining imagery through cropping and edits, especially for e-commerce and digital use. It’s definitely jam-packed, but it’s also incredibly rewarding, and it never really feels like work.
Which cross-functional teams do you work most closely with? And what does that look like?
My work requires close communication and relationships with our styling and sample teams. We all have the most hands-on approach as we are with the clothes weeks prior to shoots in order to prepare. Whether it is understanding the new color stories or making sure we are noting and showcasing the new pant for the season, it requires a lot of attention to detail from our teams.
Where do you find inspiration?
Everywhere! I especially love to travel so architecture is always top on my list. A funny inspiration I’ve found recently is art displayed at airports! If you can step away from the stress of travel, take a moment to seek out the art on display in the terminals, lounges, etc. sometimes there are very interesting pieces.
What trends are you seeing in e-commerce? How does this tie into what’s next for Ann Taylor?
I think product videos and artificial intelligence (AI) are top of everyone’s mind and how to find the perfect balance. It needs to feel seamless and helpful to the customer. When it comes down to it, the question is always, "How can we best showcase the product?" As these initiatives are being better developed month over month, we always strive to give the customer the best experience at Ann Taylor, so I know exciting things are to come in the e-commerce imagery space.
How does wearing a suit make you feel?

What’s your coffee order?
