Financial Analyst

About the role

The Financial Analyst supports financial planning and analysis activities across the business, including budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting, and variance analysis. This role requires developing a strong understanding of the retail business, identifying key trends, and delivering insights that inform operational and strategic decisions.

The impact you can have

  • Support the annual budgeting process and ongoing monthly forecast updates
  • Assist with the monthly close process, including running reports and preparing journal entries
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages for business partners
  • Partner with functional teams to review spending, analyze variances, and refine forecasts
  • Maintain and analyze key financial and operational metrics to evaluate business performance and trends
  • Conduct ad‑hoc financial analyses and contribute to broader finance projects

You’ll bring to the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling
  • Experience with Oracle and Hyperion preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively with team
  • Strong attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy in data analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple commitments

  • The target salary range for this role is: $55,000 - $65,000*

This position works on-site at least 4 days per week consistent with the needs of the business at our Talbots office location in Hingham, MA
