About the role
The Product Copywriter – Anntaylor.com is responsible for the concept, development and implementation of product copy for anntaylor.com. The Product Copywriter understands the brand positioning and voice to express each item in a compelling, original, persuasive and accessible way to keep consumer facing communication modern, relevant, differentiated and inspired. The Product Copywriter understands how to leverage consumer insights and seasonal mindset to evolve voice and messaging. They also understand how to adapt voice based on brand standards, while maintaining SEO-friendly product descriptions and names. The Product Copywriter works cross-functionally with Merchandising and Digital teams to ensure copy accuracy and page functionality, as well as with the greater Copy and Marketing teams to continue implementing strategic refinements. The right candidate understands the balance of communicating the brand’s values and promoting brand awareness, while understanding the importance of supporting the business through driving traffic and sales to anntaylor.com.
The impact you can have
• Write informative, brand-right product descriptions across categories, using a variety of writing styles based on each specific item to engage shoppers on anntaylor.com
• Demonstrate expertise and consistency in translating brand voice into compelling SEO-friendly product copy, using item tech packs, images and the anntaylor.com style guide – all the while maintaining high standards for writing and proofreading
• Collaborate with the Senior Managing Editor, Digital Product Copy as well as liaising with cross-functional partners in obtaining a set of style numbers at the start of writing each delivery, learning about current marketing initiatives and any special callouts
• Self-edit copy and submit to Digital Team Partners, working closely to ensure accuracy and functionality
• Set and document copy standards, create and manage Syntax Guides and continue evolving PDP copy best practices
• Effectively manage workflow to achieve key deadlines, with excellent attention to detail
• Continually adhere to our overall best practices and writing processes to achieve a high level of efficiency and proficiency
• Potential for additional copy responsibilities within brand marketing team
You’ll bring to the role
• Bachelor’s Degree in English, journalism, communications or advertising preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience copywriting in advertising, direct marketing or publishing
• Background in fashion ecommerce/editorial; extensive working knowledge of current trends, style, culture and language of fashion world
• Creative work portfolio
• Ability to think strategically about product copy from both a creative and SEO-friendly standpoint, including item naming and key details to incorporate
• Ability to work independently, as well as partner with the Senior Managing Editor, Digital Product Copy when necessary
• Ability to work and communicate cross-functionally, responding quickly and clearly
• Ability to multitask, adapt and re-prioritize while thinking creatively under tight deadlines
• Superb organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Self-motivated with entrepreneurial spirit, a positive attitude (and sense of humor!)
• Outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills, with an ability to self-edit and sense-check copy
• Experience with Excel and database tools, knowledge of Internet technology

• The target salary range for this role is: $65,000 - $70,000*
*Any job offer will consider factors such your qualifications, relevant experience, and skills. Eligibility of certain benefits and associate programs are subject to employment type and role.
This position works in a hybrid model, with three days per week worked in the New York, NY location and two days per week worked remotely.
