About the role

The Sr. Merchandiser develops and executes a cohesive, relevant, omni-channel product merchandising strategy that meets or exceeds departmental financial objectives, while providing clear direction and leadership to direct reports. While managing multiple product categories within the division, the Sr. Merchandiser identifies business opportunities and leads the CFT process in order strategize and execute.

• Drives top-line financial objectives for the department to achieve sales and margin plans.

• Analyze business weekly to capture current trends and recommend future actions that will maximize sales and margin opportunity.

• Builds relationships through effective collaboration that contributes to a high performing team. Participate as a solution-oriented team member and cultivate effective partnerships.

• Leads weekly CFT meeting to drive results at the department level. Provide timely direction and clear communication to all CFT members.

• Partners with Planning, Store Planning, Sourcing, Visual and Marketing teams.

• Research the competitive market to identify new trends, price points and promotional strategies. Articulate the business impact and interpret/anticipate the competitions’ tactics through observation of their in-season trends, utilization of retail space, etc. and integrate information into the business.

• Drive promotional strategies as well as recommend and implement profitable liquidation strategies.

• Responsible for creating and editing a relevant and profitable product assortment.

You’ll bring to the role


 • Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years’ experience in Merchandising with experience managing direct reports.

• Strong leadership profile and ability to influence others across functions.

• Strong analytical skills and clear understanding of financial measurements and how to impact them.

• Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and divisions.

• Ability to take analysis into action, executes to timelines and provides timely solutions.

• Strong decision-making capabilities; strong point of view and negotiation skills.

  • The target salary range for this role is: $100,000 - $110,000.

  • On-site: This position works on-site at least 4 days per week consistent with the needs of the business at our LOFT office location in New York, NY.
