About the Position
The Specialist, Store Communications will effectively communicate business critical information across all key business functions to our Store and Field Leadership audiences. This role will coordinate and organize communication efforts including but not limited to content development, editing and proofreading for various formats, vehicles and audiences, feedback collection and generating reporting. The Specialist is expected to develop strong relationships with cross-functional partners such as Visual, Marketing, Planning, Asset Protection, Credit Marketing and Store Operations. Additionally, this role will be accountable for proactively calendarizing communication/project schedules and meeting those deadlines in a timely manner.
The Specialist will report to the Manager, Store Communications and together with the Store Communications Team will drive the evolution of our internal communication strategies, processes and vehicles to best support the needs of our business and our field organization.
The Impact You Can Have
Clearly communicate promotional activity, visual execution, store tests, pillar events and store workload, etc. balanced with cascading seasonal and monthly strategies for field/store leaders and associates.
Coordinate and manage the production workflow (writing, designing, routing) of internal communications utilizing tools, systems and partnerships amongst the Store Communications/Client Experience teams and cross functional teams.
Assist as “co-editor” of the intranet platform, responsible for site administration, content organization (maintain relevancy and accuracy) and communication planning (posting and archiving).
Implement and maintain brand communication governance and standards as it related to managing communication requests, creating/editing communications and routing for review and approvals.
Serve as a field advocate and communication consultant to cross-functional partners to provide feedback, best practices and deadlines for communicating direction to field leadership and stores.
Develop seasonal editorial stories and activities that recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our Field Associates to drive engagement and encourage two-way dialogue within the field organization.
Attend weekly business meetings and partner with the Ann Taylor/LOFT & Ann Taylor Factory/LOFT Outlet PLC to craft the content and plan the cadence of business strategy updates and supporting documents for in-store execution.
Serve as a Workflow advisor for possible impacts to store workload based on each brand’s promotional cadence and cross-functional partners initiatives. Input and update Workflow entries for accuracy in preparation for store’s monthly Strategic Business Review.
Coordinate the production of assets, copy and reviews for store tools such as Workflow calendar, Associate Features, Intranet upgrades, store surveys and seasonal tools.
Correspond with stores via issues management system, general email boxes, and internal communication channels.
Proactively coordinate prep needs for meetings including, presentation documents, agendas, notetaking and scheduling, etc.
Provide logistical, project management & onsite event support for field meetings and conferences as needed in partnership with the Client Experience Team
You'll Bring to the Role
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Business Management, Marketing and/or 2 -3 years equivalent work experience.
Highly effective verbal and written communicator across different vehicles.
Organized & works well in a fast-paced environment (management of deadlines for multiple projects, exhibits a sense of urgency, proactive, resourceful, can-do attitude)
Eagerness to learn about retail/fashion, client service & experience; with a focus on retail/business communications.
Passion for writing for various audiences (internal, external) using various vehicles (print, online)
Collaborative and works well in a team environment but can work independently.
Proficient on PC & MAC Operating Systems
Retail store background is a plus, but not required.

The target salary range for this role is: $65,000 - $70,000.
Any job offer will consider factors such your qualifications, relevant experience, and skills. Eligibility of certain benefits and associate programs are subject to employment type and role.
