Volunteer Stories: In Conversation with Lisa PF., Technical Design Manager

Meet Lisa, a Technical Design Manager who started her career journey at Lane Bryant as a Store Associate in 2006. Read on as Lisa shares about the impact of giving back and how she supports one of her favorite local organizations.

What drew you to Lane Bryant?

My first position with Lane Bryant was as a Store Associate in 2006. I first came to corporate as a full time Fit Model in 2007, after 4 years I moved into Tech Design as the Assistant Technical Designer for Dresses. I have also worked as a Tech Designer with Catherines (a sister brand of Lane Bryant at the time). I found my way back to Lane Bryant in 2021. Total years combined… 16!

What inspired you to start volunteering?

I wanted to find a way to support my community, and I love working with animals. I have a friend who was recently involved in volunteering at Stockhands for Healing and he recommended it as a great cause to get involved in.

"I think the sense of purpose you can get from volunteering spreads to the rest of your life."

Is there any particular cause you're passionate about?

Stockhands for Healing has a horse barn in Delaware, OH, where they work with Veterans recovering from PTSD and children with developmental disabilities. My husband and I decided to sign up to support riding lessons and barn chores. We both love working with animals and feel strongly about serving our community. The kids love the lessons, and their smiles are priceless! The riding lessons look like games on horseback, but the therapeutic benefits are amazing. It's just a good cause all around.

How do you think volunteering and giving back to the community contributes to the overall success of Lane Bryant?

I think the sense of purpose you can get from volunteering really spreads to the rest of your life. It's also great networking to get out and meet new people. As a Technical Designer, I'm always on the lookout for potential size set models and wear testers.
